Review of Database Programming with Visual Basic.NET and ADO.NET by F. Scott Barker. Published by Sams Publishing.

If you create any applications that will be accessing a database, then this book is for you. The author takes you from forms using Bound Controls, creating SQL Server Database Objects, through ADO.NET, transact-SQL Command, managing SQL server Security to using XML.

The way the book is laid out makes it a very good reference book. I very seldom read a book from cover to cover but instead use it to solve a problem that I have encountered. Because of this I have to be able to find a reference to the area that I am having a problem with and then find and example to give me an idea of how to solve it. The book is filled with lots of code samples and a good explanation for each. I expect this book to be very dog-eared as I get into using .NET.
